Layers

From the Legend you can view and modify all your layers by accessing many of the powerful tools in LandVision™, such as Thematic Mapper.

Legend Overview

  • To open the Layers, click the Layers tab from the Main Toolbar.

  • To toggle a layer on or off, click the layer. The Blue Check means the layer is turned on.

  • To move a layer to another position in the Legend, drag and drop it.

  • To create a Group Name for related layers, such as the Property Data group, see the Options Menu section below.

  • To style a layer, see Thematic Mapper.

Adding Layers to the Legend

  1. Click the More Layers button at the bottom of the Legend. The Browse Layers window appears.

    Note: The Browse Layers window enables you to add, remove, and delete layers from the Legend, and to load your data into LandVision™.

  2. In the Available list, click the layer you’d like to add to the Legend.

    Tip: You can select more than one layer to add to the Legend at the same time. While holding down the Ctrl key on your keyboard, click on your desired layer(s).

  3. Click the right arrow to move your selected layer(s) to the Active list.

    Tip: To remove any layer from the Active list, select it and then click the left arrow.

  4. Click the OK button at the bottom of the Browse Layers window. LandVision™ adds your layer(s) to the Legend.

Removing Layers from the Legend and Deleting Layers

Here’s how to remove a layer from the Legend:

  1. Click the Options icon on the layer you’d like to remove. The Options menu appears.

  2. Click Remove Layer on the menu. The layer is removed from the Legend.

    Alert: After you remove a layer from the Legend it is not deleted. See instructions below to delete a layer.

Here’s how to delete a layer:

  1. Click the More Layers button at the bottom of the Legend. The Browse Layers window appears.

  2. In the Available list or the Active list, click the layer you’d like to delete.

  3. Click the Delete Layer button. A confirmation box appears.

  4. Click OK in the confirmation box to delete the layer.
